Families are invited to join Friends of Kirkstall Abbey Park (FKAP) for a nature-themed outdoor session exploring wildflowers and pollinators this June.

The event will take place on Saturday 6 June, 10am to 12pm at Kirkstall Abbey Park Orchard and is aimed at families with children aged 3 to 10 years.

Delivered alongside Tiny Outdoor Explorers, the session will include a range of hands-on activities designed to help children learn more about wildlife, nature and pollinators through play, crafts and exploration.

Activities include:

  • Busy bee game
  • Wildflower and pollinator survey
  • Filter paper butterfly craft
  • Flower weaving
  • Planting wildflower seeds to take home

All equipment will be provided. Families are encouraged to wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear, as activities will take place outside.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets must be booked in advance.

Please note that while dogs may be present elsewhere in the park, attendees are asked not to bring pet dogs to the event to help children stay focused and feel comfortable during activities.

The activity is funded by Wades Charity in conjunction with Friends of Kirkstall Abbey Park.
