The Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, and the Combined Authority are working with local authorities to offer grants of up to £50,000 to fund climate friendly schemes.
What will the grants fund?
From creating a bee friendly wildflower meadow, to installing secure bike storage at your community centre – they want to help fund the ideas that will really make a difference to your neighbourhood whilst supporting the regions ambition to being a net zero economy by 2038.
Funding of between £5,000 and £50,000 is available for projects that prioritise:
- Local, clean, and flexible energy solutions
- Healthy, affordable and efficient buildings
- Walking, cycling and public transport
- Green and climate-ready nature solutions
Who can apply?
- Voluntary groups
- Community groups
- Social enterprises
Funding will be distributed through the five local authorities, taking into account local needs and priorities. Find the link to your local council for more information here: Community climate grants – West Yorkshire Combined Authority (westyorks-ca.gov.uk)
