There is a pilot taking place which aims to “increase the wellbeing of children with asthma (and other persistent respiratory issues) living in the 20% most deprived areas of Leeds by improving air quality in their homes”.
This will be done by providing equipment and advice to improve housing conditions which are known to affect respiratory issues. (e.g. cold, damp, mould, condensation and allergens, such as dust mites and pet dander) to families who meet the eligibility criteria.
The pilot pathway intervention is called ‘Breathe Easy Homes’ and is being run by Care and Repair, in partnership with Leeds City Council (the main funder) and the ICB in Leeds.
Ideally the child will have seen their GP about their ongoing respiratory condition or have an asthma diagnosis.
If you work with children and young people and think you would like to refer into this pilot service, please have a look at the supporting documents. If you have any questions contact [email protected] OR [email protected].
