
Nova is inviting applications to join its Board of Trustees and help shape support for the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector across Wakefield District.
Nova works with charities, community groups and social enterprises to help them thrive and continue their important work. This includes:

Providing free specialist support on development and growth
-
Ensuring the VCSE sector has a strong voice in decision-making
-
Securing resources and funding for organisations across the District
There are several trustee opportunities available. Nova is looking for people who understand the value of the VCSE sector and want to contribute at a strategic level.
Previous experience as a trustee is not required. Induction and training will be provided.
Nova particularly welcomes applicants with experience in:

Finance (including the Treasurer role)

Cyber security
-
Data management
Treasurer role
Nova is also recruiting a Treasurer to provide financial leadership to the organisation.
The Treasurer works closely with the Board, CEO, Finance Manager and accountant to ensure finances are well-managed, transparent and aligned with strategic priorities. This includes:

Guiding financial decisions

Supporting the Board to understand and act on financial information
-
Contributing to future planning, including budgets, reserves and exploring new income streams
The role is voluntary, with expenses paid.
Location: Hybrid – Wakefield or online
Time commitment: Around 8 hours per month
