Small charities and community groups from across Leeds are being invited to attend a special civic celebration recognising the contribution they make to communities across the city.
Hosted by Leeds City Council and Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL), the Lord Mayor’s Civic Celebration for Small Charities and Community Groups will take place on Thursday 25 June at Leeds Civic Hall.
The event has been organised to thank small charities, voluntary groups and community organisations whose work makes a positive difference to the lives of Leeds residents.
As well as celebrating the achievements of local groups, the event will provide opportunities to connect with support services, find out about funding and training opportunities, and learn more about networks and forums across the city.
Groups attending will have the opportunity to:
• Receive a certificate of recognition from the Lord Mayor
• Have a photograph taken with the Lord Mayor
• Be featured in a commemorative leaflet recognising participating organisations
• Learn about funding, training and support available for small groups
• Sign up for newsletters and updates on opportunities across Leeds
• Find out how to influence local decisions and connect with relevant networks
The event is open to small charities and community groups with an annual income of less than £25,000 that support communities in Leeds.
Places are limited to four representatives per organisation and booking is required.
