We are delighted to welcome Deaf Women’s Society, one of our latest members to join Volition and Forum Central.
Deaf Women’s Society was created in 2017, in response to an identified lack of provision for Deaf women in Bradford, West Yorkshire who used British sign languages and also a lack of linguistically and culturally appropriate support for these women, who were often vulnerable and socially excluded.
All their events are fully signed by a BSL interpreter to ensure inclusion, this is a priority to avoid discrimination and highlight the rights of deaf people.
Deaf Women’s Society is run and governed by deaf and hard of hearing women. Deaf Women’s Society serves all deaf and hard of hearing women in Bradford, West Yorkshire and beyond.
