AutistiCon, our annual autism information event for Leeds, is back for 2024!

The date and venue have both been confirmed for this year. The event will take place on Tuesday, 11 June 2024 from 9.30am – 4pm and will be located at Leeds Playhouse in Leeds City Centre.

What is AutistiCon?

AutistiCon is a FREE annual event which aims to educate, enlighten and share what it really means to be autistic. The event hosts guest speakers, information stalls, activities, as well as performances and artworks created by autistic people.
We believe that as a free, open to all, autism convention, AutistiCon is a genuinely innovative and unique experience.

Who is the event for?

First and foremost, AutistiCon exists to serve the autistic community, but anyone with an interest in neurodiversity is welcome.

The event caters for autistic people, families and carers, professionals, business leaders, or anyone with an interest in finding our more about autism and what it means to be autistic. AutistiCon provides information for people at all stages of life, so is relevant to both adults and children. As well as being a place to learn, the event serves as an opportunity for autistic people to find like minded people, and to provide information on the services and support networks that are
available in our region.

What can be expected at the event?

At the event, you can expect to see:

  • Autistic guest speakers and professional speakers, who will be confirmed closer to the event
  • Information stalls from local services working with autistic adults and children
  • Content from autistic people about their lived experiences
  • Exhibits and performances from local autistic artists

The event is organised by a steering group made up of Leeds Autism Services, Leeds Autism AIM and Yorkshire Autism AIM (part of The Advonet Group), Specialist Autism Services, Forum Central, Leeds City Council and Lighthouse Futures Trust.

We Need Your Help!

To ensure the event is as accessible as possible, we make sure it is completely free to attend… and we need your help to keep it that way! From the feedback we’ve had from attendees, this event is crucial in helping to make Leeds one of the friendliest places for autistic people and their families to live in the UK, but we desperately need to raise funds to ensure we can host AutistiCon events for as long as they are needed.

If you think you can help, please visit our AutistiCon event appeal page using the button below. There you can donate directly, find out about other ways to help, and to view the impact report from last years’ event.

Any assistance, no matter how small, will be very gratefully accepted.
