We are seeking to nominate a Third Sector representative to hold a seat on the Leeds Placed Based Partnership (PBP) Committee.
The Leeds Place Based Partnership (formally Integrated Care Partnership or ICP) is being developed to enable closer working across the health and care sector. Leeds health and care partners are particularly proud of the work our system’s leadership has undertaken over many years to ensure that people, communities and our Third Sector are involved in setting priorities and engaged in the designing of the delivery of services to our populations. Consequently, Forum Central is seeking a Third Sector Provider PBP Committee Member.
This role on the Leeds Placed Based Partnership Committee champions a ‘one health system’ and involves advocating for the broad and diverse Third Sector in Leeds and helping to share information to and from the sector, with support from Forum Central colleagues.
The Third Sector Provider Committee Member will sit with the following committee roles:
- Chair
- Independent Member – Finance and Probity
- Independent Member – Health Inequalities and Delivery
- Independent Member HealthWatch – Quality and Public Voice
- Provider Member Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
- Provider Member Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
- Provider Member Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust
- Provider Member Leeds City Council
- Provider Member – Primary Care Networks
- Director of Public Health
- ICS Place Director
- ICS Place Finance
- ICS Place Nurse
- ICS Place Medical Officer
Who we are looking for
A Third Sector Senior Leader, Director or Trustee with the following:
- An understanding of the Integrated Care System (ICS) and Place Based Partnerships (PBP)
- Excellent knowledge of the health and care system in Leeds
- Prior involvement in the PBP events to date or a commitment to working with Forum Central to develop an understanding of developments
We are particularly keen to hear from people who are actively working with communities of interest experiencing health inequalities in Leeds.
Skills & experience:
- Be willing to represent the wider Third Sector, i.e. not their own organisation
- Strategic thinking and decision making
- Experience of influencing and developing policy
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and public speaking
- The ability to provide time commitment for:
- Attending all relevant meetings* or give sufficient notice if they are unable to so that a deputy can be arranged
- Having regular contact with the Forum Central officer or colleagues and existing reps for ongoing support
- Reading time/ preparing for the meeting
*It is envisaged that the Committee will meet up to 10 times per year and the exact balance of development sessions and public meetings will need to be confirmed by the Committee, but it will meet no less than 4 times per year in public.
Support to the role
The role is supported by the Forum Central Reps officer and the wider team who provide:
- Knowledge, information and overview of third sector health and social care activities in Leeds
- Links and introductions to Forum Central membership and wider partnerships
- Briefings before/after meetings and on key issues
- Support for actions required following meetings, (eg, research, data, engagement with the wider sector) when required
- Clear and person-centered processes for ‘feeding back’
- Support with communication of key messages arising from any Board meetings to the wider sector.
