We are delighted to announce that Ruth Kettle has been appointed as Chair of Volition’s Board of Trustees.

Ruth is Chief Executive of Inspire North and brings a wealth of experience to the role. Ruth joined the Board as a Trustee in 2015 and has worked in mental health in Leeds for 18 years. She shares Volition’s passion for the impact and contribution of the Third Sector in Leeds health and care system.
Together, supported by Ruth’s leadership, the Volition Board will continue to work hard to accelerate change and be part of the solution to tackle challenges faced by Leeds’ diverse Third Sector.

Ruth’s appointment follows the resignation of Volition Co-Chairs Alison Lowe and Andy Rawnsley.
Alison was a Trustee of Volition since 2005 and stepped down from the role as Volition Co-Chair to become the deputy mayor for policing and crime for West Yorkshire.

Andy became a Trustee of Tenfold in 2016 and worked in collaboration to help make Leeds a great place for people with learning disabilities to live. Andy will continue to lead Aspire CBS and work closely with our Learning Disability Network.

Both Alison and Andy have made an enormous contribution to the Volition Board and leave a legacy of brilliant partnership work and have played a key role in outstanding developments across the health and care sector.
